Kids are just so funny some days. They always seem to think that the world revolves around them. The kids these days, do not know how to play outside or play by themselves. I think that the technology age has spoiled everyone including adults. Technology has spoiled children the most with all the different gaming systems and automatic spell correction on papers. The average child does not know how to spell or
write correctly. I think that school needs to start back teaching kids how to spell and write correctly once again.
I completely agree that children need to be able to play outside more and learn how to entertain themselves without the help of a television or computer. Unfortunately, society has made it so dangerous for them, that we as parents have had to pull them back inside the doors. I agree with you on writing and spelling. The schools request so many books to be read over the summer vacations, but the emphasis is taken away for writing about what they read.
ReplyDeleteDo you see a difference in children that read at home opposed to those who only read at school? I would have to say that I DO. Even with my own children I saw a tremendous difference. My daughter read all the time and seemed to even have a more social life, where my son did not read and his friends were limited to those who only shared his interest in games (inside and out). He was an all star baseball player but still didn't show much interest in anything else. His math skills however were very good because his coach taught them how to keep stats and with this he was intrigued with numbers. (great coach)
